In general, I don’t like to deal in absolutes because life usually ends up proving me wrong. However, when it comes to shopping habits and styles, I’ve realized most of us have one of two types of wardrobe: the classic and minimal and the saturated and trendy.

Classic and minimalist

Without falling into extremes, this type of wardrobe is usually small and carefully curated. It is based on a few high-quality items that can be used and combined almost infinitely for every occasion.

In general, a minimalist wardrobe is more common among people with a classic style. Mainly, because they tend to gravitate towards basics and timeless pieces. If you’re very neat and organized and enjoy taking your time to study your options before going shopping, probably your wardrobe style belongs to this type.

Trendy and cluttered

Trendy wardrobes usually come hand in hand with cluttered closets. 10 pairs of jeans, 40 going out tops, 20 skirts, and an endless amount of accessories for every season.

Usually, this type of wardrobe is based on trends. That’s why it has a little bit (or a lot) of everything. If you love fast fashion, have a very busy social agenda or simply hate repeating outfits, this is probably your type.

Which one is best?

Actually neither. Or both. It depends on how you see it. It all comes down to your preferences and lifestyle. Both types of wardrobe can be fun or a nightmare. And both styles can learn from its opposite for a little bit of balance.

In both cases, it’s always best to regularly clean out and reorganize your closet. Not only is great therapy, but 9 out of 10 times you’ll end up re-discovering items you didn’t remember you had and falling in love with them again. Besides, it will be easier for you to realize what you are missing and be more focused next time you go shopping.

So, what style of wardrobe do you have? Let me know in the comments below and tell me what is the best and worst part of it. As always, thank you very much for reading and may the force be with you. Until next time!
